Threston C. Roots Scholarship Awarded

In January, I posted the announcement of the Threston C. Roots Scholarship Fund. Thanks to this week’s Chester/Community Spirit, I learned that the first scholarship was awarded on Saturday.

What’s wrong with this picture?

The Charles E. Gordon Consistory held its banquet on Saturday, and neither me nor mom knew the scholarship in my late father’s name was being awarded. 

I’m going to bite my tongue on this one.
