Daily Times editor threatens Chester

The editor of the Daily Times has threatened to come to Chester and face any and all of you in a public forum.

Let me know if you’d attend?

Today, I was directed to go to Facebook to read a post about the pharmacy murder. Editor Phil Heron sounded off on one of the comments and said he’d come to Chester to get it straight...or something like that.

For the number of Daily Times papers Chester buys everyday, the Daily Times should be doing some kind of give back. They’re offering to do a public forum. I’ve never known them to do one in Chester.

Would you attend?

  4. i'd be tempted to fly up and attend. i just hope it doesn't turn into a session of ratchetness (is that a word?) i.e., would there be a true agenda, complete with a COUPLE of city officials, Chief of Police, school district superintendent, prominent business, civic and community leaders (no, not the head of sho'nuff bakery and auto repair)?
what i'm getting at is there has to be a purpose. gripes and concerns will be abundant, but the TRUE objective should be to get chester on the right track to attract, maintain and grow its tax base. ask widener's president why they got in the charter school game. they see a hole with money attached to it and believe they can do things better. that's the REAL reason. more power to them.
ask the schools superintendent if he/she would/would not send their child to a cusd school for a k-12 education. ask comcast and the daily times what they are looking for, and better yet, what they are not getting/seeing in chester's grads.
no powder puff questions, it MUST be made to uncomfortable, because it is not comfortable coming home to visit.
    best wishes.
now, who's gonna make it happen?

    1. Doesn't seem to be much interest thus far. You gotta want it.

    2. not YET. this has to be WORKED. phone calls, invites to officials, calls to other media, etc. it can/should be done. if it's not taken advantage of this time, the city's apathy and silence will ring louder than ever. SEIZE THE MOMENT! any word from jk? his thoughts?
