Chester Community Garden Opens for 2013

‘I Can I Will’, the youth garden program run by Mike Gray and the children of the Bennett Homes, launched their 2013 season with some arts, crafts, and planting.

A stranger learned of 'I Can I Will' and drove over 45 minutes to donate a
couple hundred dollars of great farm tools including gloves and that wheel barrel.

When summer arrives, be prepared to purchase flowers and house plants from the water ice truck converted into a garden learning center. And as always, vegetables will be sold every Saturday that were grown in the garden. And, the highlight of the season is to see if they can grow that 500 pound pumpkin this year before they do the season ending pumpkin carving in October.

The garden is located at Concord and Central Avenues and is easy to see if you’re driving south on I-95. Blow your horn as you pass. We hear you.
