Double drama from early morning Chester collision

I awoke at 3:30 this morning hoping it was 7:30am. I flipped on the TV to watch one of my favorite news guys, Rob Nelson, hoping to fall right back to sleep.
Just as I was dozing, I heard a huge collision in front of the house.
I jumped to the window and saw that a black SUV had slammed into the rear of a neighbor’s parked vehicle...and then watched it drive off.
That’s called a hit and run.
The police responded quickly and went on the chase. Apparently, they found the SUV but the driver had dashed.
After all the excitement calmed down, my other favorite news guy was on, Dray Clark, and I was hoping to fall asleep on him. (That doesn’t sound good, does it?)
I heard the tow truck arrive followed by the screeching tires of the damaged vehicle as he positioned it to get it up on the flat bed.
Then...pop, pop, boom!
Fortunately, the onlookers were not close enough to get injured, but the street emptied quickly as the orange glow lit up the block.
The fire fighters came quickly and casually put the fire out. I stress ‘casually’ because I would have been in panic mode.
I have an 8am appointment. I guess I’ll start a pot of coffee and look forward to an afternoon nap to catch up on the sleep I missed this morning.

    1. I couldn't get back to sleep, so why not. But don't expect to see me chasing ambulances around town.

    2. Yeah, just what we need you taking jobs away from lawyers. Never a dull moment. It's dangerous to park on that street.

    1. You should move off that crazy street. I lived a block away back in the day. Unless you like being in the middle of the action, that's the perfect place for you.

    2. I think you spend enough time there to know where.

  4. Firefighters casually put out all fires. Professionalism demands cool, calm thinking when others panic.
CFD has some of the BEST firefighters in this region, they do more with less all the time. Other Cities have parades of trucks, not Chester, you'll get those 12 guys who shut it down fast,if you see more arrive it's usually to mop up after the original 12 are beat. God Bless The CFD !!!

Not to mention, well I will, they have been doing this without a settled contract for several years now and this administration seems hell bent on continuing to disrespect them and the residents by their tactics of late.

I remain anonymous due to my concerns of professional reprisals.
    Ask about it Stefan.
