Kelly Price's Management Team Issues Official Statement about Chester's 4th of July Celebration Cancellation

MS Kelly Price was hired to perform for the City of Chester's 4th of July Weekend Celebration.
Although the details of our contract are confidential, and should remain so, the information regarding what Ms Price was paid was inaccurate.
MS Price never refused to come out of her hotel as rumored but, as always, she was prepared to perform for her audience.
The concert was cancelled by city officials "due to the threat of weather". This was the official reason we were given by employees of City Hall. MS Price was unaware of any violent activity and certainly not a murder that had taken place in the vicinity of the park. This information was kept from her management team and remained unknown to us prior to reading this blog.
It was by our client's suggestion that something happen for the audience since they didn't have their concert and since she'd flown in from LA and was already there and prepared to sing.
Ms Price attended the meet and greet at City Hall which was set up in the foyer of the building after waiting in a vehicle outside for 2 hours because there was no place for her to go to wait while the workers set up a make-shift performance area inside the building.
Once Ms Price was inside she addressed the audience and thanked the city for bringing her in. She took photos with EVERY person who wanted one (which was nearly every person in attendance) AND a member of our management staff sent word through one of the city official to invite the wedding party to come from their reception and be among the guests at the meet and greet.
She allowed all of the guests of the wedding to get in line first to receive autographs and take pictures so they could get back to their own celebration after sharing a moment with the bride and groom to encourage them and let them know that she herself was coming up on her 20 yr wedding anniversary.
Once the autograph session got started and had gone on for a little more than 30 minutes, City officials came to shut down the autograph/picture area and Ms Price told them "No. Allow everyone who wants a photo or an autograph to get one.”
It took nearly an hour and a half to complete because MS Price insisted that we not shut down until EVERY PERSON could speak to her and have a personal moment with her if they wanted one.
After all of that SHE SANG for the audience. She sang a few songs. It wasn't a full concert because the set up could not support a full concert. There was a microphone and a plug that connected an IPOD to a speaker so Ms Price could sing. Not what our sound requirements are for any kind of performance but she made it work so the audience would not be disappointed.
Deputy Mayor Nichols and Lady Portia West of the Chester City Council handled all trouble-shooting and stayed by Ms Price's and our team's side all night to insure everything ran as smoothly as possible with the changes that took place.
As always Ms Price carried herself gracefully and with dignity and did whatever was necessary to make her audience feel special.
I am unsure why anyone would attempt to assassinate her character or even suggest that any mishaps that took place were in any way connected to Ms Price's actions or inaction.
In the end as Ms Price told the audience she appreciates it anytime someone wants to hear her sing and invites her to do so. It is unfortunate than anything other than those sentiments would be allowed to be aired concerning this event and Kelly Price.

  2. I believe the way these things happened was definitely an embarrassment to the City! Kelly Price appeared to be very gracious under the circumstances. There should have been a rain contingency in place, because once you contract with the artist and if the artist shows up, they have fulfilled their part of the contract and therfore the city would not be entitled to a refund of the monies paid. I do believe it was a poor judgement call on the part of the planning team because it only rained for a good 10 mins. and this was all before the concert was scheduled to begin at 8 pm. At 8 pm, the storm had passed & it was sunny out again. I hope that for future events a rain contingency is put in place and the city doesn't have to waste any more money!

  7. Seriously? People in government walking around with their heads up their butts and noses in business where it don't belong. Why not use resources you have in Chester, rather than try to screw them over? Envy is an ugly emotion. Are government jobs just handed out in Chester for handy Js in the bathroom? Seriously, people running this show are that inept? ROFL!!!!!
