Chester folks love to read a local paper that doesn’t have Philadelphia in its name.
Unfortunately, for one reason or another, no one has been successful in producing a paper that contains what Chester people want to read. As a result, we’re rather ‘under-informed’.
The big daddy, Daily Times, has an issue of trying to cover a very large county with a very small paper. There’s no way all of the Chester content will get in their paper.
The Chester Spirit, which now shares its space with the Community Spirit, is far too small to cover any more than a very few Chester stories in depth.
The Scoop relies on submissions, and the only Chester submissions comes from Rev. Rocky Brown and the bar ads, which is the only place to read Chester Bar/Club Happenings.
The old Chester Spotlight was never meant to be a news paper and served as a ‘People Magazine’ for Chester.
Rumor has it, a new paper may be brewing in Chester that will attempt to hit all of your hot buttons. I wish them much success.
If they do it right, they have a captive audience that’s been waiting a mighty long time for the right paper to cover Chester like it should be covered.
