Chester spending $10,000 with Clear Channel?

I’m sure I read it wrong, but in today’s Chester Spirit it says that...
Council approved an agreement with Clear Channel for $10,000 to provide radio ads promoting the city’s Peace on the Streets events on Thursday, August 25th.
Our city wouldn’t spend that kind of money on Philly radio, would they?
To the city...if you can find $30 somewhere, I’ll post your ad for a month on this blog.

  1. If this is true, the radio station should run these for FREE as a public service announcement

  2. Lol.

    This is too funny.

It seems that Chester authorities are the only ones who don't know that Nonprofits and gov can always get free advertising from all media outlets.

But kudos to Clear Channel for finding a couple of suckers in Chester to give them 10 grand. lol

If Chester has a nonprofit advocate or

  3. Stefan,

Nobody wants to support their own citizens by advertising on their hometown blog.

"Creating jobs, buy local". That's just stuff they say to sound good. It would be too much like right to give you a multi thousand dollar contract that would allow you to higher additional help to cover Chester news. Hell. They don't even want to spend $30

They'd rather help clear channel execs fund their kids havard educations rather than allow us to employ our own.

Peace on the streets my ass...Dumbasses can't connect the dots.

  7. What a waste...Guess they didn't do their homework...All of the possible free or low cost ways to get the word out, and they GIVE AWAY $10,000.
Hell, I would walk up and down Chester City streets with a bullhorn for $10,000 if they want to give it away!!!
