Hon. Mayor John Linder, accompanied by Council, staff, and The First Lady, delivered his first annual State of The City Address inside the church at Latham Hall on the Chester Campus of Widener University this morning.
The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and Widener University sponsored the event for the audience of several businesses in attendance including PPL Park, Peco Energy, Comcast, Crozer/Keystone Health System, and Exelon, in search of the economic answers to the question of infrastructure development and production for Chester City.
Mayor Linder delivered an assurance of revenue resources to enter in addition to the continued stream of real estate, Act 511, fines, license, and permits, interest/rents/royalties, intergovernmental, service charge, and reimbursement revenues, an employee recovery plan, re-disbursement and restrictions on overtime and insurance funds.
The Mayor added, “We are not seeking to punish businesses or frustrate our workforce, rather enhance the quality of service through code and ordinance reviews.”

His new community system relies on a collaboration of Business and Industry, Government and Services, Colleges and Technology, Schools and Training, and Homes and Neighborhoods.
“We must build and support our human capital”, explained Mayor Linder who took on a question and answer session following.

ReplyDeleteDunno. I would have been there if I knew about it.
DeleteNot a good look...this should have been advertise, I am sure a lot of people would have like to be there.
ReplyDeleteTrue. Hard to believe that a State of the City isn't presented to the people in the city. You'd think this would be a big event. Where's the DJ? Where's the food? What's the secret?
DeleteI hope I can get a transcript of his speech to post here.
I hope someone recorded it so it can be shown on Channel 10.
It will be on PCN tonight at 8
ReplyDeleteTransparency is what he ran his campaign on. JOKE
