Widener Men’s and Women’s Basketball to Host ‘Hoops for Heart’ on January 17

CHESTER, Pa.— Widener’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will host a Hoops for Heart basketball clinic on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 17. The teams have joined the Hoops for Heart initiative as a way to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King through service. They will donate all proceeds from the clinic to the homeless shelters of the Community Action Agency of Delaware County. The clinic will serve children in grades one through eight. Participants will receive individual instruction covering the fundamentals of basketball for a $20 entry fee. Held at the Schwartz Athletic Center from 9-12 noon.
