Converse Connect to Hip-Hop

If you were a baller from the 70s, the only sneaker you wore was a Converse All-Star. As soon as we got hold of $10, we headed to Ace’s, next to Sears, in downtown Chester, to get that fresh new pair of Cons.
How did we play in those canvas sneaks with no arch nor ankle support? It’s almost funny when you look back on those day. And the rubber was chewed up so fast by the outside courts that Ace’s made a mint with us coming back every couple months for a new pair. (Who remembers our shoe-string artistry and the high-top 3-ring wool sweat socks? You better have on two pair.)
Converse has made a comeback in this very crowded world of sneakers, which are used as much for sports as they are for fashion.
Check out the story of the man behind the comeback.
