High School programs: Library of Congress & Research Science Institute


Library of Congress Work Study Program for High School Students accepts applications at any time for high school students interested in working part-time at the the world's largest library. Both paid and unpaid positions are offered.

High school students must be recommended by a school official and available to work on a part-time basis for 1-2 semesters. Students receiving a paid work study position must agree to work for one year.

Research Science Institute Summer Science and Engineering Program is offered each year to the most accomplished high school students. The program takes place at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Each year, the program accepts 80 of the brightest high school students to join them in a summer of learning. The Research Science Institute (RSI) is offered at no cost to eligible students. RSI gives students a unique opportunity to apply their course work to real work in science and technology research.
