Chester boys basketball (14-4) loses to Interboro

Chester (14-4, 6-2) get knocked out of first place in the Del Val with a 62-73 defeat at the hands of the Interboro Buccaneers. This marks the first lost to Interboro since 1978. 

Chester trailed from the opening basket as the Bucs knocked down the first of 9 treys. The Clippers were frigid from all over the court while the Bucs were in a heat wave. Gabe Adesina (4) and Khaleeq Campbell (3) scored their only points in the first quarter while Keyonte Watkins added 3 of his 4 points as Chester trailed 12-17. and Khaleeq Campbell. The Bucs continued to knocked down shots in the 2nd outscoring the Clippers 25-10 to put the Clippers behind 42-22 at the intermissions. 

With Chester still trailing at 1:44 in the 3rd, Tyrell Sturdivant scored to cut the lead to 53-35 and became the 29th member of Chester's 1000 Point Club. Tyrell finished the night with 25 points and another double double having grabbed 15 rebounds. The Clippers made a push in the final quarter but the hole they dug for themselves was too deep. Chester managed to outscore the Bucs 25-13 but it was not enough. 


Chester will return to action tomorrow night to complete the rescheduled Academy Park game.
