CHESTER LAW ENFORCEMENT REPRESENTED AT NEWTOWN MEMORIAL

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Chester City Bureau of Police Commissioner, Joseph Bail Jr., will speak to an audience of survivors of gun violence and their families on active steps taken and currently required to combat the epidemic. Newtown Action Alliance, Newtown Foundation, and supporters will host the National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence at the Washington National Cathedral, today, following community service efforts in the metro area in honor of gun violence victims worldwide. Several members of Congress and Clergy will also           
speak at the press conference marking the one-year anniversary of the December 14th tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.


Chester City is gaining national recognition as a stronghold, among several key cities working to eradicate gun violence. Through the city’s participation in the Mayors Against Illegal Guns organization: No More Names Initiative, CeaseFire PA, and Delco United for Sensible Gun Policy, Mayor John A. Linder and Police Commissioner Joseph Bail Jr. have represented Chester in the national dialogue on gun legislation.
