“Chester is a different animal. You have to be fully invested for the kids to get anything out of it. I encourage the next person to do so.” 

There had been discussions last year of cancelling the program altogether. Poor and borderline condemned field conditions at the Chester Athletic Complex had made Crews and his staff’s jobs very difficult over the year. 

“I’m led to believe they’ll bring their own people in and start fresh,” he said. “I thought we did a lot with very little.”
