Is Same Sex Marriage the same as Gay Marriage?

If two BFF 50 year old heterosexual divorced women choose to marry and live together in an open relationship where they dated other men, would that be considered a same sex marriage since they aren’t gay?

It’s hard to ignore all the wrangling over same sex/gay marriage lately and I could give a hoot one way or the other, but I’ll admit to being totally confused on how same sex marriage and gay marriage are use interchangeably.

Just like people getting married for a Green Card, I can see same sex non-gay couples getting married for the convenience of tax and health benefits.

Or, will they be gay tested before they’ll be allowed to marry?

What do you think?

  1. What prevents two heterosexuals from getting married for the convenience of tax and health benefits?

    1. Well, if the intent of the law is for same sex lovers, I can see it being abused by same sex individuals who aren't lovers.

  4. I can see that happening...the whole thing makes me angry. Two adults of the same sex can get together and reap the benefits of health insurance and I am not allowed to add my grandchildren or my mother for that fact on my health insurance..

  6. what difference does it make? people will marry for convenience whether they are gay or straight, in open or monogamous relationships. stay out of everyone else's business. don't you have enough to worry about?
