Crazy mid day storm plows through

This giant tree was snapped at it's base

When I arrived at Home Depot in Claymont, DE, it was hot and sunny with a few clouds in the sky. Five minutes later the P.A. guy announced that the owner of a black convertible parked in front of the store better hurry because it's raining.

The next half hour was one of the most intense pop up showers I've ever seen.

Several of us do-it-your-selfers watched from the big bay doors as none of us made an attempt to leave. The 5 mile ride back to Chester became an obstacle course of downed limbs, hail, more rain, and detours due to flooding.

Pulling into the driveway at home, the sun was out again.

Home Depot's new marketing strategy is to manufacture heavy rain to keep you in their stores longer
