Zayd Blackwell inducted into the National Honor Society; earns Presidential Volunteer Gold Award

Zayd Blackwell was inducted into the National Honor Society and given the Presidential Volunteer Gold Award for logging over 250 volunteer hours at Tyler Arboretum in 2011/2012.

Zayd is a junior at Pa. Cyber Charter School and also attends Delaware County Community College as part of Pa. Cyber's enrichment programs. High school juniors and seniors are allowed to take credited courses at DCCC, and keep the credits, as long as they have a GPA of 3.5.

He has volunteered at Tyler Arboretum for fall festivals, its pancake breakfast, and as a junior camp counselor for the last 3 years. He has also volunteered for other organizations like Kaboom Playground, and Chester Tree Planting.

Zayd is a  participant of Villanova University's VESTED program which I learned about from your blog.  (holla!)

He would like to become a software engineer and plans to achieve his masters degree in 5 years after his 2014 graduation.

Zayd also shoots archery at Middletown Archery in Media, Pa.

He is the son of Kevin and Tracey Blackwell, nephew of Edith Blackwell, Chester City Controller.
