Philabundance and Do the KIND Thing

A new report from Philabundance shows that there are 900,000 individuals at risk of food insecurity each year in the Delaware Valley and their agencies have seen a 26% increase in need of food over the past year. Therefore, the organization has partnered with Do the KIND Thing to help provide thousands of Thanksgiving meals to local families in need – all through simple acts of kindness.

Through the partnership, local citizens have the opportunity to carry out one act of kindness with the power to provide thousands of Thanksgiving meals to local families in need.

Every month Do the KIND Thing challenges residents in a new city to do one act of kindness for someone else. This month they are focusing their efforts on helping the Philadelphia community by providing holiday meals to those in need and if enough people sign up to do so at KINDmovement.com, the organization behind it (KIND) will pay that kindness forward and give thousands of meals through Philabundance.

Starting now through Tuesday, November 6th, Do the KIND Thing, in partnership with Philabundance, is challenging local residents to give thanks to someone who has made an impact on their lives. If enough people visit KINDmovement.com and pledge to carry out this act by November 6th, KIND will work with Philabundance to provide thousands of holiday meals to local families in need and volunteer time at the Community Food Center to help package groceries for the hoidays.
