Who would have thought that in less than a year as mayor, John Linder would lose his grip on Chester politics?
When he and his city council comrades were overwhelmingly elected to office in November, the voters finally got the change they were seeking for so long.
But, it seems the business minded and cohesive republicans have been replaced by aimless and devisive democrats.
The Deputy Mayor hasn't appeared at 3 of the last 4 council meetings, rendering no votes on important issues. The police chief seems to be on his way out. The CEDA executive director is out and is not welcome back in. City council members have swapped responsibilities. The assistant city planner is a goner, and the department of recreation may be in for a shake up. Let's not forgot that the school board has a lot less on their plate now that the state is taking over.
I'm certain there are plenty of you still insisting that the Mayor just needs a little more time to get things together. In my opinion, if he doesn't get it together soon, his entire administration is going to get hijacked.
If Chester can't do business with itself, I find it unlikely that any outside interest would be attracted in doing business with us either.
As long as these sloppy politics continue, Chester will stagnate and risk losing any momentum toward growth and improvement.

ReplyDeleteKirland was not elected to be Mayor of the city of Chester. Thank God for that because he cant even do his job as State Representative. Give Mayor linder a chance and vote Kirklnd out in november and keep him out.
DeleteI could not have said it better if I tried. I actually gave them more credit, I knew they would fall apart at the seams but I am taken aback that it happened so soon. Hopefully the voters will see that you need qualified professionals to run a city especially one with Chester's issues. I will say kudos to Council for their decision to try and rid the city of, let me get it right "Commisioner Bail". He's more concerned with Terrorism and mass murderers, maybe he would be a better fit as a Profiler, maybe not. Anywho.....so.....basically, Linder is nothing more than a figure head, and where the heck is Councilman Nichols, dude, you have to pick a side. Well, the Daily Slim will have something to write about, who knows, maybe we'll forget about the senseless murders. I can only assume Mayor that it doesnt feel so good to have your people fired, was the building filled with Cops escorting the two fired employees off the premises? In addition, Council made it clear that Mr. White cant consult, cant work for free, cant stand in the lobby, cant use the stairwell, cant use city hall restrooms. Did anybody see his credentials (I'm being serious now). If he worked for the Obama administration, why is he no longer there?

The number one problem is that it wasnt a member of Thaddeus Kirklands inner cirlce of friends. By the way Thaddeus Kirlands friends were hired when the republicans were ousted at considerable pay raises.

A bunch of darn nincompoops. The Mayor lost Village Charter under his control did we expect more. Oh yes a change, well we got it. Since the marriage between Linder and Thad seem to be on the brink of divorce and Nichols doesn't want to pick sides by not showing up during important voting meetings, where does that leave our City? Can this be fixed?

I stood out there with Mayor Linder campaigning and wondering how we could have black republicans in Chester and now I see. If I knew what I know now I would have help out Mr. Garner. Republicans you have my vote in Chester, but not in Washington. Lol
ReplyDeleteExactly, those of us who are Republicans are so locally. The key is understanding the process and knowing how to split your vote. In the last 16 years while the Republicans were in control, Chester experienced a surge in economic growth and was no longer the laughing stock of Delaware County, we became competitive and an asset not a liability to the County. Barely 8 months in and it looks like we have taken several steps back. I didn't respect Linder from the start because I knew he could not deliver the change that he campaigned on and would be incapable of surrounding himself with credible and qualified folks. Kirkland punked him plain and simple. As far as Nicols is concerned, you were elected to this process and its time you show up, how many conferences can you attend on taxpayer dollars. Is the Health Commissioner your relative, if so, I wonder if shes on the "Linder List". I was wondering what qualifies one to be a Health Commisioner, correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't you have a medical background? Dr. Shaikh was a real medical doctor. Seriously, Chester needs to report these activities to the PA state ethics commission.

My guess is we are on the outside looking in and don't know what's really happening on the inside. However, it appears they are trying to run the city on their own accord which is not saying much. So when all these ousted persons are gone, who will be the replacements? I have a feeling that there is a hidden agenda. Ms Liz and Ms Portia have been trying to get into City Hall for years, now I see why they were never allowed in, just a bunch of sharks along with piranha Jacobs. Ms Liz, what has happened to Sunday Jazz, bring it back! People work during the week, while Ali Hackett is doing a good job, look at the turnouts. Duhh. City Council get it together!!!!!!

DeleteFirst, the Commissioner for Burns & Head of Delegation (CFB-HOD) is an appointed individual, who works on behalf of the People of the Member States to the UN. The CFB-HOD also works for the Public Safety Community, in making sure they have the overall resources required to do their job and return home safe at the end of the day, to their families.
DeleteSecondly, the CFB-HOD is a person who advocates for “those” whom are voiceless in their ability to live within a society that judges on the basis of race, sex, national origin or on the basis of being different.
As required by the policies of the Office of the Commissioner for Burns, an IGO and the requirements of the Member States.
Thirdly, the CFB-HOD came to the City of Chester, to assist the Public Safety Community, after receiving numerous requests for Foreign Aid and various complaints from the Citizens of that City, on the lack of Public Safety Assistance in the areas of Fire & Burn Prevention, Public Outreach, Smoke Detector, and other issues- relating to Firefighter Injuries and/or deaths.
Fourthly, The CFB-HOD was warned by “others” within this Administration to stay away from the City of Chester, Pennsylvania because of the People & the City having a Bad-Name. However, the CFB-HOD did not want to believe a City & its People can be so bad- that no one could benefit from a Helping Hand!

The Current Situation,
On July 30th 2012, a day, which will remain in our Administration’s minds forever, changed the official opinion of the CFB-HOD and the O.C.B Administration’s positive outlook for the City of Chester, Pennsylvania. On this day, evil & hatred presented itself to this Administration & the Citizens of the City of Chester, by the unfair treatment of person who did nothing but try to assist a City drowning at its own hand and a Public Safety Community, another victim of the City of Chester, Pennsylvania Politics.
The CFB-HOD was violated in such away; it’s unbelievable that racism can & do still play a role in America’s Everyday Life and/or Culture. To be treated in the manner his was, is true slap in the face – to this Administration, the People it Representatives, and the Ideas of the International Community, in addition, the Men & Women who have died giving “Their All” for the safety of others. Not forgetting “Their Families” and the Memories of those Wonderful Citizens.

However, the CFB-HOD Uniform was assigned to him, to help in the delivery of his obligations to you, the everyday Citizen. The uniform wasn’t designed by the Member States to defraud people; it was designed to give hope to individuals, who was told they would be nothing in life, to offer encouragement in the face of discrimination.
The CFB-HOD is an educated individual, who was raped at the age of 9 and severely burned at the age of 10- by his aunt, and her boyfriend- who was and still a Philadelphia Police Officer today, but despite the aforementioned. The CFB-HOD is an individual who wanted to give back, because he received so much, as child growing up with a wonderful Adoptive Mother, named Mrs. McGeer.
The true dream of the CFB-HOD was to be a Pastry Chef, and not a sitting Commissioner with great responsibility. He put this dream aside to take on a responsibility of providing assistance to those with Disabilities & assisting on a Disability Treaty, after successfully co-writing to Articles (7 Children with Disabilities & 8 Raising Awareness for People with Disabilities) he was offered this Commission by the Member States.
If you leave it to certain individuals, they would have you believe that the Office of Commissioner for Burns, an IGO was started by this individual who is the CFB-HOD. But they are truly uneducated in this area of International Law.
An Intergovernmental Organization, cannot be started by one person alone, unlike a Public Charity, it takes the motion of 3 Member States to voice their sincere opinion, in the beliefs of design and/or creation. Once those 3 Member States, by the way, are countries, then other Member States have to join-in in spreading their wishes and beliefs of the positive.
Basically, it’s like running for Public Office, except- it is at the International Level (not local).
Have you heard of USAID, UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO) World Food Program (WFP) United Nations Women, (UNW) Organization of American States (OAS) the Vatican (Holy See), these groups all serve as, Intergovernmental Organizations, because instead of General Members, they have Countries, who makes up their overall Membership Base.
Now, the CFB-HOD did start the United States Burn Support Organization, in November of 2004, he was in St. Christopher’s Hospital for a 5 month stay, because of a nasty infection he received while at the Burn Camp in VA during that summer month of August ’04. The CFB-HOD wanted to talk with other people who were burned- like himself. But no one was there- the hospital told him, if he wanted something like that, he would have to start his own support group-
DeleteSo after talking with his friends, the nurses and social work- he decided to give it a go; on November 16th 2004- he brought the name of the United States Burn Support Organization, for $75.00 and on the 17th of November ’04 he incorporated with the PA Department of State for $125.00 Non-Profit Incorporation and the following month of December ’04 he filed for the Tax Exemption, which cost $150.00 and another $125.00 for amended Articles Incorporation.
Because the American IRS wants you to comply with this statement and it has to show within your bylaws, “We agree to take an active part in the decision making as directors. As a board we will, as appropriate, approve contracts, agreements for services and budgets. We agree that the organization’s board will be controlled by unrelated and uncompensated individuals. In addition, the compensated individuals cannot vote on their own compensation and that compensation decisions will be made by the board.”
During the Month of January 2005, somewhere is China an apartment building was permitted to burn to the ground with a lot of people trapped; their Fire Services Units was ordered to “stand down” listening to the screams of the people and watching the horrific images of people burning alive”
DeleteThe UN Executive Committee reached out to the United States Burn Support Organization, to assist on this Disability Treaty (Convention) and it was pure luck that the UN founded the U.S Burn Support Organization, as it only been around for less than 30 complete days. It was thanks to a family, from St. Christopher’s Hospital who had a son, suffering from “CF” a disease I wouldn’t wish on my worst foe- it’s a disease that basically drowns you, in your own fluids and/or mucus. You don’t live pass 21 of age.
The child’s parents was talking with the nurses and they nurses of 4 North, informed them of what the CFB-HOD had in-mind and they donated a website to him. And to this day, still pays for the Hosting and up-keeping of the USBURN.ORG.
You see, people view the CFB-HOD as a scam and if you knew him, and needed food, money, clothing and/or housing or even an education, he would go the extra mile to make sure you had what was required by you. So that you could thrive in this society, they call the United States of America.
But because of race, and his disability, “the burns”, people begrudge, instead of respecting- this is mostly from Cops & Firefighters, who would prove to benefit the most, if they needed assistance, as a Public Safety Agency, or as Individuals Injured in the Line of Duty, or if they was killed in the Line of Duty, their families would prove to benefit the most.
However, people don’t think that way, all they see is a 6’1 overweight Black “N---er” who is what evil people call a “Crispy Critter” and it’s a true shame, the City of Chester & her Citizens will suffer the most; including, its Fire & Police Departments- not because of lawsuits, but because- here was a person who wanted nothing back in return, but he expected the Public Safety Agencies to benefit from the helping hand & then the overall Citizens.
The CFB-HOD did not care about race, when others within the Administration did, he didn’t care about the Politics, when other in the Administration did! He just wanted to make sure the People of City of Chester, Pennsylvania had all of the resources required and that he upheld his Oath of Office and the overall image of the Office of the Commissioner for Burns, an IGO, the Member States and the UN itself.

Seriously, if you’re going to threaten people who have every right to post whatever they want on the internet when it is NOT a threat, at least use grammar check or have someone review your posts first.

Office of the CFB: This blog is not the way to address the issues you had with the police and fire department. With the exception of the police officers and firefighters familiar with you, nobody else has any clue who the "Commissioner for Burns" is. Airing your complaints in a public forum and calling the treatment you received by the police or firefighters as being anything less than respectful is wrong. Up until the day you point out, I can recall several lunches and dinners that you enjoyed in the firehouse kitchen, as well as several hours of you sitting in the Engine Bay with some of the other firefighters having conversation.

There was no hate crime that day. Based on the information they had, they acted accordingly. If you were any kind of "man" (welcome to the big men table, so you say) you would address the members of the fire department and police department directly, or at least keep your comments to yourself while you pursue legal avenues. Linder went after them with the taxes and made the relationship strained. Money knows money and I am sure they are telling their friends not to invest in Cheater because it's a MESS. Why would a new investor come to this city to do business and exactly who is he doing business with? Linder or Kirkland? Another question I have is how difficult will it be when the NEW BOSS of the police department come into power and have to report directly to Linder or will he report to Kirkland? Though not making front page news their have been more killings than ever in the city. Back doors deals for contracts, diversion of funds and I hear someone using the Mayors office for personal gain like tickets to all star games.
And as for Kirkland, he has had 18 plus years to deliver from Harrisburg and I am still waiting. Maybe instead of the white man who has delivered you should be looking at the black man that hasn't and is clearly mentoring the current administation in his same pattern. DeleteThese democrats have no integrity. Kirkland gave credit to Linder and his administration for the PPL Playground build at Showalter and Linder graciously accepted. The City was first approached and couldn't produce so the CUSD was approached with only 5 weeks to complete a project that usually takes months to plan. Mrs. Blackwell who they terminated in January got the job done along with local 413 and many others who didn't get a thank you from the Mayor for saving 150K + for the kids of our community. Look at the signs around the soccer field, Chester City is not one of them. Even though L&I did everything they could to make problems for the build, it got done. Integrity in business is very important, PPL and Harrahs I am sure will tread lightly now. Any thoughts of Wideners to actually recognize Chester as they home has probably gone to the back burner again. The democrats don't have integrity amongst themselves. How do we survive this? DeleteI am a former resident of the City of Chester but was born and grew up there with many family members still living in the city. I read every post and was grieved by the comments. Where is prayer? Does anyone believe or even know God's Word. Whether you believe it or not (and we are seeing the results globally)... we are our brothers' keeper. It is not politics we are wrestling against in this great City, but a lack of agape love (Yes, I wrote we because this is my hometown and I still visit several times a year). Cain killed Abel, but God's love, through the blood of His Son, Jesus, has covered a mulitude of sins. I pray that we examine our hearts and that the love of Jesus be revealed (in our hearts) as we seek God's face, lift every circumstance and issue up in prayer and trust Him for the answer! Hatred, backbitting, slander, malice, finger pointing, etc... will always destroy a people (city, nation, country, world) but only the love of God can bring unity and prosperity! God's grace and peace be with you all!

Dan Lewis is awesome :) Hey....commissioner of burns....even your stories about how you were burnt and who took care of you etc etc are all false...I know because I was there. You have clinically proven multiple personality disorders and it is sad, but what is more sad is that you are a scammer...well I am goign to make it my JOB to bring your ass down.
