Chester Economic Development Authority head fired?

Rumor has it, Whitney White was fired.

Cant' be, he just got here. He couldn't have unpacked yet.

Can anyone confirm or deny this rumor?

  1. Thaddeus and his gang, fired a person that was not playing partisan politics and was doing good and inclusive things to help the city.

I hope the Mayor gets the Democratic party in check and restores order.

Thad is a crook and is in for himself. Thanks for someone like Mr.White for standing up to him and everyone else that takes advantage of Chester.

I hope people wake up and say enough is enough.

  2. Darryl Jones and Kirkland and the Democratic party offer nothing better than the ones who left.

They are idiots......let's see what Mayor Linder is going to do. Then we will see who's running things.

    Can someone please replace Kirkland?

  3. WOW!!!! Yea I did hear they was trying to get rid of him... and to be honest I don’t think anybody can replace Kirkland! Nobody has enough power to beat him in the general election.. The 159th District LOVES him

  4. Think and fact check before you make comments based on rumors....Mr. White was never officially hired. He was appointed to his position. Everything is not about politics and Thaddeus had nothing to do with the reason Mr. White was not hired...sometimes its about what's best for the Citizens and City of Chester. The CEDA Board made a decision based on the information presented to them by Mr. White.

    1. Even if someone 'fact checks', if they found that Mr. White was appointed and paid to do a job, then told to leave, most people would consider that as being fired.

I've never heard of anyone being Unappointed.

If what you say holds true, why should any appointed person start working until they are offcially hired if they risk being Unappoointed?

In the future, anyone considering that position better sign a firm contract before taking that job.

  5. To anonymous 10:39..........fact check? Sometimes things sound so "out of wack" that fact checking seems almost insignificant. When the mayor says he was surprised by the decision, didn't agree and thought that Mr. White was a valuable asset to the city, smh. Sorry, but why do I need to 'fact check' after hearing that from the horses mouth. Even if Mr. Linder doesn't have the power to terminate someone in CEDA, he should have been consulted. He probably did do something to piss Thad & Co. off, but I have much more respect for Mr. Linder speaking up and expressing displeasure. Yep, I wish we could get Thad out! Mr. Wendell Butler caught a lot of hell, but Thad was in office longer than him. Why does he get a pass?

  6. Anonymous 6:02pm...Mr. Linder and Mr. White should not have been surprised...they knew exactly what was going to happen. Sometimes people just aren't who they say they are...Don't blame Representative Kirkland. I'm sure if you do a background check on "Thad" he is who he says he is...Same for Mr. Wendell Butler...Mr.White on the other hand is a different story...fact check and background checks can tell you more about an individual than the individual themselves...I bet the folks who gave Bernie Madoff their money thought he was on the up and up too. CEDA can find someone else qualified with legitimate credentials to do the job.

    1. Should the CEDA board be fact and background checked too? They're the ones with the decision making power.

  7. I meant no disrespect against Representative Kirkland. From your last response anonymous 12:03am, I take it that you may be a "person in the know", if you are and I mean no disrespect, but present the facts or tell me where I can read what you know. Also, who is on the board that made the decision, so at least we would all know which people we need to be 'fact checking'?

  8. Why are we concerned about Whitney White he has done nothing for the city. I know he did not have enough time to do anything major but it was not like Linder did a major search to find a qualified person to run CEDAR after they fired a qualified person. If he was not who he said he was I BLAME Linder he appointed him.

    1. I don't think the concern is Whitney White. No one knows hims. But hardly anyone knew the past head of CEDA and he had the job for years.

The concern is the other thing you adressed - How do we qualify our appointemnts?

Since we can't vote for an appointment, you trust the people you vote for will appoint the right people. If they don't, who do you blame - the voter or the elected official?
