Chester City Celebrates Mother's Day 2012

An annually anticipated tradition of more than fifty years, the Chester City Mother’s Day Parade, is fast approaching, this year with a couple of changes. The most noticeable change is the date, which has been rescheduled by city officials in the interest of public safety.
Chester City Police Commissioner Joseph Bail Jr. added, “The major league soccer schedule has conflicted with our usual date for the parade, though we have found a means for the citizens to celebrate both occasions this year with the required respective police coverage necessary for events of this magnitude.” “The cancelation of last year’s parade exercises due to corruptions in public safety threw off scheduling, though we are pleased to announce this year’s collaborative efforts of The Elks, The City of Chester, and PPL Park/The Philadelphia Union have made it possible to honor our loved ones for Mother’s Day weekend.” concluded Mayor John Linder.
The Elks have historically hosted and sponsored the annual parade, which begins at 1PM inside Memorial Park, proceeds from 7th Street to Kerlin Street, from Kerlin Street to 3rd Street, and on to The Elks Lodge. This year the City of Chester will provide additional sponsorship accompanying all necessary permits Fire Department and Police coverage and PPL Park will make a generous donation of food for Parade Bands to enjoy.

  3. Mothers day parade lets see fights and everyone is drunk or high. Come watch it is the insight of why this city is out of control. And you get to see the bloods and crips wearing there colors it's a great show. Oh yea wait to you hear all the foul language. There are good mothers out there and you won't see them because they stay away from this crazy parade. If you think this is a mean statement please video tape and then go to all the bars and house parties to watch the fights and listen to the foul language. Happy mothers day to all you mothers out there that are raising these gang bangers drug sellers and this great kids that don't snitch. Keep up the good work. See you at the parade.
