Community not given fair chance to meet C.U. candidates

So many people address city officials about school district issues and don’t want to hear that the city has no jurisdiction over the school district.
Yet, when an opportunity to meet school board candidates was staged last night, only 40 people attended and more than half the candidates failed to appear.
But I can’t blame either.
I don’t think this event was intended to have a strong turn out as it seemed to be thrown together within the last week by the Chester Branch of the NAACP, the lone sponsor.
Someone should have called the Inner City Alliance if they were serious about putting a program like this together. They seem to know what they’re doing.
