Who knows Fred Shuttlesworth?

Students’ Knowledge of Civil Rights History Has Deteriorated
I wish I was lying...
I thought I’d take an informal survey on Who Knows Fred Shuttlesworth.

The first guy I asked said that Shuttlesworth was the character basketball great Ray Allen played in the Spike Lee movie He Got Game.
The survey ended right there.
Actually, he wasn’t totally wrong. But Ray Allen played the ficticious Jesus Shuttlesworth, not the real live Fred Shuttlesworth, the last of the civil rights movement's 'Big Three.' With the Revs. Martin Luther King Jr. and Ralph David Abernathy, he founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in 1957.
