Luther is Back

When many of us hear the name Luther, we immediately think Vandross. But, not this time.

‘Luther’ is a London based psychological police thriller staring Idris Elba. Season 2 just started.

I don’t even like cop shows, but I’ve watch season one of ‘Luther’ 3 times already.  It’s just that great.

I recently found out who this Idris Elba guy is. When I started watching ‘The Wire’, he was already killed off. I did see him in ‘Obsessed’, but that was a simple role anyone could have played (or I was paying too much attention to Beyonce).

Recently, I overheard two ladies talking about Elba as if he’s the new Denzel Washington. The one lady convinced the other to watch ‘Luther’ where Elba is at his best.

Thanks to streaming Netflix, I started watching ‘Luther’. Oh-My-God! 

Because it’s a BBC program, it takes a little effort to connect to the strong south London accents but it’s worth the effort once you get into the story...which is immediate.
