George Benson - Up Close and Personal

A couple pics from my seat

I spent yesterday afternoon up close and personal with my favorite guitarist.
I got my money’s worth at the sound check where he gave a mini-concert and entertained questions from the few dozen of us true fans.
The evening concert was 90 minutes of non-stop musical excellence as George ripped through jazz standards, originals, and remakes before putting the guitar down and singing the rest of the night away.
It’s impossible to describe how great an entertainer he is. The father of cool jazz has found a way to stay relevant after the hard core jazz era straight through to today’s R&B.
He is an ageless wonder. Check out his new CD, Guitar Man, for awesome treatments to jazz, pop, and R&B remakes -- from the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and John Coltrane.
When is George coming back to Philly?
