No one ever listens to me anyway, but I’ve been suggesting for years that with all the food vendors at the Ramble, why not create a restaurant festival with them all.
Why? Because people can only eat one meal.
I know that sounds obvious, but when you eat one meal from one food vendor, dozens of other food vendors are left out.
If a food vendor is in a bad location, or has bad signage, or is just not recognized, they may sell very few platters which makes for a bad day.
Here’s my suggestion.
Give folks a choice to either buy a full platter from their favorite food vendor, or for the average price of a platter ($7 to $12), purchase a strip a tickets which allows them to receive samples from several food vendors.
With samples, there’s a greater chance that more food vendors will be offering more food to more people which makes it worth their time and money to come out.
I know for a fact that there are always food vendors that do really well and others that do really bad at the Ramble. At least with the samples, all of them have a better chance of generating business as opposed to the all-or-nothing situation that goes on now.
When you get hungry on Saturday, with the great variety of food that will be on hand, consider creating a meal for yourself by buying a side item from several vendors.
Enjoy your day at the Ramble and support as many vendors as you can.
Pardon my ignorance, but what is the "Ramble"?

Melody, go to PPL Park and see for yourself. Are you even from Chester?
ReplyDeleteCheck the link below to see what Chester is doing at this year's Ramble on the Waterfront. There are also activities in Marcus Hook and Tinicum.
ReplyDeleteThe Ramble was started a few years ago for Delaware County towns that border the Delaware River to have a joint celebration. Busses run between events if you want to catch all three.
Chester has the biggest celebration of the three and is now famous for its music and headliner after dark.
