Goods for Guns nabs 338 guns

This past weekend, 338 guns were taken off the street through the City’s Goods for Guns program. With the purpose of getting guns off the streets, the event is hosted as part of the city’s overall anti-violence effort. For more information, please see article below, which was published in the Delaware County Daily Times on Sunday, June 26, 2011: Chester gets more guns off streets

Thank you to all of those who helped share the word about this event and helped make it a success.  Residents are urged to continue working with police by providing information and to assist the police with arrests of anyone involved with illicit activity, the sale of drugs or possession of guns.  To report illegal activity, residents can call the confidential tip line at 610-447-7810 or fill out a postmarked “crime card” available for pick-up at City Hall, the police station and J. Lewis Crozer Library, with any information regarding criminal behavior or the whereabouts of guns.
