Chester NAACP Honors Pastor Ted & Alfreda Reed

The NAACP Chester Branch is honoring Pastor Ted and Alfreda Reed at their 101st Anniversary Annual  Awards  Dinner, Friday April 15, 2011 at the  Essington Ramada Inn at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $50. Ads and patrons welcome.

Honorees are individuals who have made a positive impact on the community and it is the NAACP’S way of acknowledging and thanking them for their contributions.
Rev. and Sister Reed have shown their concern for many years in promoting and supporting the educational and spiritual systems of the City of Chester.  Most notably since 2005 until now, they have established the still functioning Christian Coalition Against Violence of Chester and Vicinity (CCAV) by leading Hot Spot Walks in the highest homicide area of Chester, Sun Village.
Though homicides continued in other parts of the City, to date, only one murder has occurred in Sun Village for the past six years.
