The Legend of the Trouble Dolls is set in the mountains of Guatemala, where the native people share an ancient legend with their children. According to the legend, the children must tell their doll their troubles before going to sleep, and then the doll will solve those problems while the children sleep. The play follows the story of Teresa, a young village girl, who has trouble with the fiery volcano god, Fuego, and asks her trouble doll for help defeating him.

Since 2001, the FreshBaked Theatre Company has entertained area children and families with quality productions. The ensemble seeks to enhance Widener University’s commitment to community outreach by fulfilling its mission to perform “inventive drama for young minds…and the people who nurture them.”
