SURVEY RESULTS: Where do Chester students eat?

Breakfast at home (11)
A school breakfast (11)
Bring lunch from home (2)
A school lunch (24)
There were 35 respondents and 35 people say that students eat at least one meal prepared at school (11 breakfast, 24 lunch).
Our school district is the largest feeding program in Chester. Food is big business in the district.
With nutrition and learning being closely associated, we should make sure our students are eating right at home, and if necessary, take advantage of school meals.
Shout out to all the food service staff in the school district. You do an amazing job.

  1. We are still keeping up with the surveys. I had only 36 students participating. Here are the results:

    Breakfast at home 16
    A School Breakfast 0
Bring a lunch from home 0
    A school lunch 32

Some students may have time to grab breakfast at home. But it is so early in the morning as people rush out the door. I know my son is not a breakfast person. He may grab a cereal bar and bottled water and he is out the door.

A School Breakfast got zero because I think again not enough time. By the time they get here, breakfast is over. But some do get breakfast just not the ones I polled. I must say that breakfast here is the best. If I went to breakfast instead of having my usual toast and tea before I leave the house, I would pack on the pounds. The breakfast here is that good. So you are right to give shout out to all the food service staff here. I agree they do an amazing job to keep us fed and clean up after us.

Bring a lunch to school too elementary for my kids here, unheard of.

A school lunch is received by most if not all if the paperwork get done. This is a disadvantage area so students will get a free lunch (and breakfast too) as far as I know. We will follow up on what students have to say next week.

  2. So, bringing a lunch from home isn't cool, huh? I thought it had more to do with a lack of safe keeping or refrigeration 'til lunch time.

Man, we would be looked at as real nerds with all our super hero lunch boxes. Now they are collector items fetching big bucks on the auction block. Go figure.

  3. No bringing a lunch to school is definitely not cool at the higher levels; it maybe okay for elementary students though. So 'nerd' is a good word for bringing your lunch to school because that's exactly what some of the guys said they would look like 'nerds'.

  4. I think when your in elemenytary school bringing lunch to school is ok, but when your in high school its not ok. Eating breakfast at school I think is the best way for students to stay focus during the day.

  5. I think that most students rather eat at school than at home. Most kids eat at school because they are with their friends and they can really enjoy a meal.

  6. I think people rather eat the school lunch. I think they eat school lunch because they dont have to rush when they are eating. They have time to sit and relax and enjoy there food.

  7. i think that sometimes the lunch is nasty and not done all the way like the pizza. The dough still be messy.

  8. I'm not a breakfast person so I usally don't eat breakfast. I eat the school lunch because I like the sandwiches that you can basically make yourself.

  9. I Rather Eat A School Lunch Than Eat At Home, Because When I First Wake Up I Am Not Hungry. I Also Think Packing A Lunch Is For Elementary School.

  10. I think the cheese steak is too gressy and salty. The pizza is okay though.
