Chester has a lot of assets.
Of all the assets you had to vote on, only Covanta trash to steam plant (0 votes) is the one I’d like to see go away. Here’s is why I think the rest are assets.
HARRAH’S (17)
Gaming revenue help keep taxes steady and pay for DCCC discount tuition. Brings a lot of jobs and people to Chester. Associates Chester with a worldwide entertainment giant.
CROZER HOSPITAL (15)
Easy access to medical services. Jobs.
WIDENER UNIVERSITY (13)
Who wouldn’t want to live in a college town? Jobs.
I-95 (6)
Millions of people travel through Chester each year. If we only had more reasons for them to stop.
CHESTER-UPLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT (4)
Once we improve the public schools, watch folks flock to Chester. Or, once folks flock to Chester, watch the public schools improve.
PPL PARK (3)
Associates Chester with a professional sports franchise. Large entertainment venue. Part time jobs.
PHATSO’S BAKERY (3)
The perfect example of how a small family business maximizes exposure in the huge Philadelphia marketplace.
DELAWARE RIVER (2)
Rivers are the lifeblood of industry. An untapped resource for housing, entertainment, recreation, and transportation.
CLOSE TO PHILADELPHIA (2)
Access to shopping, culture, schools, hospitals, entertainment, parks, museums, sports, history, corporate headquarters, media. A very short commute to center city for working professionals and students.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION (2)
Literally, there is no where in the world you can’t get to from the Chester Transportation Center.

A business person’s dream is to live near an airport.

Water treatment is dirty but far more tolerable than trash to steam. Industry. Jobs.
RAILROAD (1)
Amtrak, local, and freight trains use our rails for personal, business and industrial transport. Who remembers when Amtrak stopped in Chester?
