Today in Chester History

In 1682, William Penn landed at present-day Chester, Pa.

  1. He actually came up the Delaware River from Wilmington and stopped in Chester before going to Philadelphia (Penn's Landing). Last year we did a successfully Power Point Presentation on William Penn. Since we will be in that part of the text in 2 weeks, we may do a report on him again. I like to highlight Penn because of his Chester connection. There is a brief Reference to him in Politics and Prejudice which is used as a supplementary resource.
