NBA season opens tonight...Without Tyreke Evans

NBA commissioner David Stern, decided to punish Tyreke Evans for speeding this summer with a one game suspension which I believe will keep him out of tomorrow's season opener against Minnesota. (That frees me up to watch Chicago - Oklahoma City on ESPN at 8).
Tyreke has the distinction of being the first NBA speeder ever punished by the league. Others like LeBron James, Derrick Rose, Kenyon Martin, Josh Howard, Jason Richardson and David Wesley just paid their fines and received a pass by the league office to head right back on the court.
The good news is...
SACRAMENTO, CA, October 25, 2010 -- As part of the 2010-11 “Kings for the Community” program, Kings player and reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans has purchased 13 season tickets in the ARCO Arena Premium Balcony Seats for local children and special groups in the Sacramento region, including Kiwanis Family House, American Diabetes Association, Lupus Foundation of America and Ronald McDonald House.
Introduced prior to the 2007-08 season, the “Kings for the Community” program was developed by Kings players and personnel as a way to give back to the community. Through the program, special groups and youth are treated to a Kings home game experience courtesy of players and staff.
Groups will enjoy the NBA experience as part of Evans’ “Kings for the Community” section the “Reke Havoc Zone.” Evans joins teammates Jason Thompson, Donté Greene, Carl Landry, Francisco Garcia and Beno Udrih in making early contributions as part of the 2010-11 “Kings for the Community” program.
“I’ve been blessed to begin my NBA career in a great community like Sacramento,” said Evans. “Kings fans have really supported me since I arrived here and I’m excited to give back to others.”
Evans announced his special donation during a gathering featuring representatives from the organizations mentioned above at Kiwanis Family House today.
