If Shaquille Byrd and Andre Morales had a full time summer job making a couple hundred dollars a week, do you think they would stick up a card/crap game? Wouldn't they probably be at work in the middle of the afternoon?
The only march I want to participate in is the one where we go down to the riverfront and demand that all those businesses behind the security gates hire 1 qualified Chester youth for the summer or be subject to a fine.

ReplyDeleteU GOT MY VOTE...I GREW UP ON UPLAND ST., AND KNEW BOTH OF THOSE BOYS SINCE THEY WERE TOO YOUNG TO HANG ON THE "BLOCK"...I HAD A SUMMER JOB AS SOON AS I TURNED 15, AND IF IT KEPT ME OUT OF TROUBLE, COMING FROM THE SAME HOOD, IM SURE IT WOULD HAVE HELPED THIS SITUATION EMENSELY.
ReplyDeletePlease do some research they its a on going battle on the east side with the young adults against the older adults and the stick up was not about money it was about respect. Also Shaq was on thre different basketball teams and was suppose to be going to a game at 5pm that day.

ReplyDeleteAre you implying that if I would spend time on the eastside doing research I would conclude that two 16 year olds dressed in black & pistols running up on a group of old-heads was nothing more than a peek-a-boo moment?
Once the masks came off and everyone sees it's a joke, Mr. Byrd was planning to scurry off and play some summer league basketball like nothing happened? How long did his team wait for him before they found out he may not be coming?
Please clarify your statement because I just can't let it sit on this blog unchallenged.
