New Milwaukee Public School Superintendent Sworn In

Milwaukee Public Schools officially have a new superintendent.

Dr. Gregory Thornton was sworn in Thursday morning.

Thornton said his priorities include increased student achievement, effective and efficient operations and sustained partnerships with Milwaukee parents and businesses.

He previously served as superintendent of Chester Upland Public Schools in Chester, Penn.

Thornton has a two-year contract with MPS.
