How about showing the artwork that Widener stole from the Deshong museum. I've been looking at delapidated buildings all of my life. It's a shame that Deshong park and the surrounding buildings like the old Pep Boys are in such bad shape. The city and county had no problem closing the museum, hiding the artwork from its citizens and breaking the Deshong Trust to steal the precious art but, they seem to drag their feet when it comes to condemning and razing these eyesore buildings. Oh well, I guess it's what we deserve
It's sad how the city officals don't anything about this. You don't see this type of thing in surrounding areas. I guess they will take it down once someone gets hurt.
Interested in Deshong art. Read the July 14 post 'Widener Art Gallery Open Year-Long Deshong Exhibition". While you are there, report back on how Widener acquired the art and share some more on the Trust. That's a subject I know nothing about.
i heard that the city will be demolishing this building and others on the block and the chinese restaurant across the street. There is no excuse for not having some caution tape around the property though.
THIS BUILDING IS LOCATED ON THIRD STREET RIGHT OFF FRANKLIN JUST ACROSS FROM THE CHINESE STORE, ITS BEEN LIKE THAT SINCE I WAS A KID'NOW IN MY FORTIES'BILLY GEORGE USE TO LIVE NEXT DOOR
I ride the bus down 3rd st every day and when I get to Franklin st I see the whole side of the building including 3 run down tiolet stalls I say to myself Damn... Thats the same old building I used to play in or around but thinking it was never open.We always talk about that eyesore!!!!!
