Were Vanessa Williams, Halle Berry and Thandie Newton unavailable for auditions that day? Why does Hollywood think it's even slightly plausible to cast White women in roles that would be more sensible to cast a Black actress for? Especially when that role is an African queen.

Cleopatra was an African queen but she was not a negro so why should a negro play the part. If anything it should go to an actress of middle eastern origin
ReplyDeleteCleopatra VII was born in 69 BC in Alexandria, Egypt. Egypt is on the continent of Africa. If you know she is an African queen why can't a "negro", as you say it, play the part?
