These days, when we mention Chester and court, unless it
starts with ‘basketball’, it ends with ‘again’.
Yes, high school basketball season has started and we’ll be
following the team on the court. And since the new political administration has
come on board, we’ve been following them in court.
Ever since Mayor Linder won the mayoral primary, rumors
began that he was going to name Commissioner Bail as police chief. We’re not
sure when the investigation began but the old police chief doesn’t seem to be
aware that he’s under investigation.
He not asking for much. He’d be satisfied if
he can get a few folks to drop him $50,000 for allegedly lying on him. And, he's got another suit going because he wasn’t demoted correctly.
We’ll be following this latest court case for you and would
love to hear what y’all have to say about it.

It's going to get nasty!
ReplyDeleteForget basketball what about all the shooting in the city. The only thing the people of Chester care about is clipper basketball
ReplyDeleteI don't think basketball is all Chester cares about. Why would you say that?
DeleteWhen there was a shortfall of money for the schools last year, questions came up about having to close the schools, one question was, what about the 12 players on the team not being able to go to schoool if they closed, what about college for them. No what about college for all the kids.
DeleteChester football is putting a lot more kids in college than basketball.
DeleteThat might be turn , but at that time only the basketball team was talked about, just like you are right now, what about the kids not doing sports.
DeleteI never got a answer about who pays for the Clipper basketball team trips around the country.
DeleteWhat about the kids not doing sports, which is 95% of the student body?
DeleteThey should be going to school everyday and learning what they can according to what they're taught.
If they have good grades and test scores, they can qualify for college scholarships. If they get admitted and have $20 to $40k, they can pay for their own tuition. If they don't have the money, they can burden themselves with school loans.
It's the same in every other school district in America.
There is no golden ticket.
I'm sure if you call or write athletic director Randy Legette, he can tell you all you want to know about the sports budget.
DeleteOr, do you want me to ask Mr. Legette on your behalf?
Most answers are only a phone call away. Make that call and get back to us with the answer, please.
Two seats up next year West and Jacobs must go. We know they can both be beat.
ReplyDeleteBesides DRAMA. Linder has done nothing to move this city forward. He is a BOZO, a CLOWN, a JOKE. This last year has been a mess. Never ever will I VOTE for LINDER.
ReplyDeleteIt's not Linder that's the problem, it's his cabinet. The mayor is rather intelligent, but the same cannot be said about his council people. Anonymous @ 12/12/12 9:23PM is correct, West and Jacobs need to go, half of the drama would be gone right there.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the Anonymous' above this whole this has been a big joke and a new administration needs to be elected in...1 that will work for the benefit of the citizens of Chester and not themselves their friends and families....but the whole city, not one thing has changed in this city except for how much time the present administration spends fighting with each other and spend in court suing each other, mention Chester and people either laugh or shutter.
ReplyDeleteLinder is smart but look at what he put around him fools, look what he did at Village Charter. Ran that in the hole. He pick Jacobs, he picked Bail, he pick Whitney White. You can be book smart but have no common sense.
ReplyDeleteI can only agree with getting rid of Jacobs. He is extremely rude and does NOTHING he is supposed to do. I'm annoyed that he was actually appointed. For example, I spoke to him at the 4th of July event @ Chester Park and he sighed and said I was hoping no one recognized me....Aren't you a public figure??? When asked about property that should be demolished, "he's only one man, he's working on it." I am literally disgusted at his lack of professionalism. I was a strong supporter of Mayor Linder and his team. I pray they get it together. Ms. West is awesome. Whenever something is brought to her attention, she's right on it. If you don't believe me, report something to her and see what happens. She is for the people and does everything in her power to help everyone out. But Jacobs...I CAN DO WITHOUT!

ReplyDeletePeople named Anonymous aren't taken seriously.
DeleteAnonymous 3:39 am, are you drunk/high or just straight up illiterate?! Can't even understand your bullshit!
DeleteSomeone is in for a big big big surprise! The Feds are not going to inform you that your under investigation, when they are finished they will let you know. This crap between all parties has to stop.... Clean house, start over, hire a state trooper, federal agent, to lead this police department. Someone who is not going to be a political puppet.!
ReplyDeleteYou've ruined the surprise for that someone.
DeleteNobody know's what is going to happen. One of the two will come out on top. I work for Darren and he is no drug dealer or a gun seller. I am a white cop not bringing race into it but there is so much division it needs to stop and we have to focus on the city and work as one.
