Finally a sign on the Chester Fine Arts Center

It’s hard to believe that this building has gone over 30 years without a decent sign. It’s like they didn’t want people to know about the great things that was going on inside.

The building sits on one of the most heavily travelled streets in Chester. It has nearly 60 feet of prime frontage. For years, I've gone past this building wondering if anything was going on inside since there aren’t windows to see in. The outside facade has never had any significant signage or lighting to promote the music lessons that were offered or the fine banquet or party space for rent.

At least now, someone had the great idea to take a small portion of the building and hang a beautiful sign. Hopefully, it’s not too little too late.

In addition to the nice new sign, please consider doing a mural to cover the entire wall. Add some decorative lighting and plants. It would do wonders for the block and folks will have some idea that things do go on in the Fine Arts Center.

Up to now, it's been a big secret to many. Those who knew about the place took advantage but I believe a lot more people would have come by if the building had something on it that attracted curiosity and interest.

I like the purple, but there should be so much more.

    1. Really. There hasn't been a sign like that for over 30 years. What took so long?

  2. I applaud your efforts to raise the profile of these Chester "jewels". There are so many people who have moved into the area over the past 10 years (I am one), and we don't know about Chester's many offerings. Even though I live in Chester Township, there are many offerings/activities that I can take advantage of because my water bill address is Chester. I do find that "born and bred Chester-ites" tend to use neighborhood names/nicknames, so please provide specific addresses/contact info when you enlighten us.

Thanks for all you do, and keep up the good work

  5. If you really cared about the sign or the look you should make a post about how to donate money to the Fine Arts Center or the DEEZ orginazation.

    1. As Anita Scott mentions, I see the Arts Center as a community jewel.

I don't care about the sign but I don't know any business that wants to attract business that doesn't have one. The new sign is great. What took so long?

I care that the good stuff around Chester gets the mention it deserves.

If there is a way to donate money to the Fine Arts Center or the DEEZ organization, you are free to send me a release on what the Fine Arts Center and DEEZ offer to the community and how folks can connect with them. You can also send information on how and why people should donate to them.

I've never known they were taking donations and maybe these readers haven't either. I've never heard of DEEZ which is why there has never been a post on that organization.

Make sure you let us know what the donations will be used for and if the donations will be tax exempt or not.

Ask, and you may be surprised the response you receive.
