North Broad Street is a far cry from what it was when I worked up there in the 80s. Temple University deserves a lot of the credit along with the city's effort to remove the blight that made North Philly one of the worse areas in America.
Jollie's, at Broad and Parrish, is the newest bar and restaurant to enhance the North Philly night life.
Once you step in you forget where you are. The place is gorgeous, well laid out, and for us sports nuts there are TVs all over the place, even on the stage.
Last week they had a soft opening to try things out before the official grand opening tomorrow (May 4).
One of these days we're going to get something like this in Chester.
