A Black Man Hangs Himself in Delco

If this was the headline in the papers, it would raise suspicion. But, from all accounts, the Delaware County Medical Examiner rules the death a suicide.
It’s said that Gerald Christopher was acting irrational and paranoid prior to his disappearance, he was extremely irrational and fearful before is disappearance. He left home without his wallet, money, car keys or phone.
Who knows what happened? His decomposed body was found miles from his home. The case is closed.
Suicide is always a mysterious way to die for those of us who just don’t understand.
But, how many blacks have hung themselves?
Forgive my inquiry. My curiosity just won’t stop.

  1. I think that we sometimes forget that attempting suicide is a sign of mental defect. It is not something a reasonable person would do.

Accordingly, his choice to kill himself via hanging would be feasible. That is, if he was having a mental break down at the time, it wouldnt occur to him that African Americans don't hang themselves because he was already disassociated. Albeit, if he was particularly distraught, he may have chosen that means because of its taboo for our race and therefor to further his own punishment for some reason.

(can u tell that I watch too much Law and Order?)

  2. Wow. If Law and Order was responsible for that deductive reasoning, I better start watching it. Good Stuff. Thanks.

  3. I see what you're saying. Black people in general usually don't commit suicide. We usually abuse drugs and alcohol when mentally ill or suffering from a trauma. But the article stated that he was acting irrationally before the incident. Did he leave a note behind?
