SURVEY RESULTS: Where is the best place to buy food in Chester?

A Full Service Supermarket 46%
Chester Farmer’s Market 23%
Philabundance Grocery Store/Pantry 23%
Chester’s Co-op 6%
An intentionally ambiguous question.
Everyone can interpret ‘best’ differently, and the question only refers to food.
Because of the ambiguity, the survey results can mean many things.
For example, the convenience of a full service supermarket, where you have a wide variety of fresh food, frozen food, and dry goods, as well as, home care and personal care items, pet supplies, greeting cards, banking, and whatever else they can squeeze in, is the best place for many to buy food, even if supermarkets don’t always provide the best food available.
Co-ops and Farmer’s Markets are known to provide the highest quality foods, but not nearly as much food variety as a supermarket. Co-ops have the advantage of the lowest pricing for their members, far below supermarkets and farmer’s markets.
Philabundance is the unknown. Based on their plans, they seem to be preparing to bring the same food items found in a supermarket with less variety and far lower prices.

(Less variety is defined as a store that doesn't offer 50 different cereals like a supermarket does. You many need to still go to Pathmark to find Cap'n Chrunch with Crunch Berries).
In conclusion, do as you feel.
High quality food is readily available in Chester. We have more options than we’ve had in a very long time. Soon, the Philabundance concept will arrive and resemble the grocery section of a supermarket.

The only thing we have no hint of seeing anytime soon is a full service supermarket within the city limits.
