Due to significant amount deterioration discovered in the floor system during a recent inspection, PennDOT has instructed the City of Chester to immediately close the bridge to pedestrians and vehicular traffic.
The Lloyd Street Bridge will remain closed until the City receives notification from PennDOT that the bridge is safe for travel. The City appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation.
That's it, you mean to tell me with all the money the city is supose to be getting from Harrahs and the union also city taxes we can get a better answer then the bridge is closed until further notice. this is a joke right, yet the city can spend all that money fixing the sidewalk on highland ave so that the FOLKS can walk donw the street, the Mayor car ride around in a brand new car and city leaders can line their pockets with taxpayer money and what ever grant money that has been given to the city, tell you what I don't like the answer, so I'll take it a step furter....dig that!!! ReplyDeleteThe bridge blongs to Amtrak or PENDOT, they are fighting over who should fix it. The city didn't erect it. Local tax payer money shouldn't be earmarked to fix it. Amtrak takes care of all the structures they own in more affluent neighborhoods, and this one should be tended to also, or the city should file suit.
ReplyDeleteoops. I sent you to the wrong post.
DeleteI'l put a link to the other post that has the judges ruling when Chester did take them to court.
sorry
