Widener Students and Faculty to Offer Free Mobility Clinics in Honor of Dr. King

The Widener University Institute for Physical Therapy Education will honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with free mobility clinics throughout the city of Chester on Friday, Jan. 14 and Monday, Jan. 17. At each clinic site, students and faculty will screen and clean scooters, wheelchairs, walkers, crutches and canes to ensure that these assistive devices are in optimal condition. In addition, each site will offer blood pressure screenings.

“These clinics enable us to give back using the skills we’ve acquired as physical therapy students and practitioners,” said Dr. Jill Black Lattanzi, a clinical assistant professor in Widener’s Institute for Physical Therapy Education. “It’s our way of embracing Widener’s call to students, faculty and staff to celebrate Dr. King with a day of service.”

For more information, contact Lattanzi at 610-499-1278 or jblattanzi@mail.widener.edu.

  1. There is definitely logic in this way of thinking; plenty of superior technologies have been stifled due to companies with more money squashing smaller but more capable competition.
