Chile & Chocolate Challenge at local church

Organizers Irene Friedrichs, Penny Bartlett and Kelli Schweitzer
Do you love to eat excellent chili and chocolate?  Do you make great chili or chocolate dishes that you’re willing to enter into competition?
Either way, you’ll want to be in Media on Saturday, Jan. 22, for the Third Annual Chili and Chocolate Challenge! The scrumptiousness starts at 6 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Delaware County, 145 W. Rose Tree Road, two blocks west of Route 252.
You can sample dozens of delicious concoctions -- $15 for seven tastes plus salad and cornbread, with extra tickets available. On top of that, there’ll be lots of door prizes and a 50-50 drawing.
To enter your special dish in the contest, you do not need to provide a recipe. Experts from outside the church will judge all entries, and prizes will be awarded for each category.
Running the Challenge are church members Penny Bartlett, Irene Friedrichs and Kelli Schweitzer. Friedrichs also is the church’s director of religious education.

For more information about the Challenge, including how to submit an entry, contact the Unitarian Universalist Church of Delaware County at 610-566-4853, Ext. 4, or assistant@uucdc.org.
