Chester suffered their first loss to the best team in Delaware, but Sanford had all they could handle as the Clippers never said die.
Unfortunately, Chester missed too many fouls shots, gave up too many rebounds, and were exposed at their weakest position - point guard.
As the season progresses, I expect they will improve on the foul line, start boxing out with those big bodies of theirs for more rebounds, and employ more pressing so they can get points off their defense to reduce the need for half court offensive sets.
With a few more bounces their way, Chester could have walked away with a win against the Best of Delaware. I can’t wait to see how they stack up against the Best of Pennsylvania in their quest for State College.
