Chester City worker allowed to work after gun charges?

There is no question that Chester is perceived as a city with a gun problem.
This summer, city and state officials worked hard to change that image and got tough on guns with a State of Emergency, gun buy backs, anti-violence marches, and weekly gatherings in hot-spots.
This week, they got soft on guns and lost all credibility they gained this summer.
How can they allow a city worker, who was arrested on very public gun charges, to come to work at city hall? Doesn’t that send a message in direct opposition to the message they sent this summer?
If it were my decision, she’d be suspended with pay until the authorities sort things out.
Isn’t her presence in the workplace a distraction? Is the lead poisoning department so essential that the city can’t function without her for a while?
In my opinion, this situation is not being handled in a manner that brings consistency to the anti-gun, anti-violence mantra established by the city this summer. Credibility for that program has just been destroyed.
Non-city workers. What is your employer’s policy? Would you be allowed back to work?
For those of us who know the accused, we all believe that she was not directly associated with what was found. However, until more facts are known, keeping her on the job is not a smart move for the city, for many reasons.
Somebody convince me otherwise, please.

  1. This summer was about getting re-elected, and nothing else those who had their seats coming up for re-election had to "Appear" as though they cared about the people innocently dying in the streets now that the Elections are over...the citizens of this city can go back into Blight. Now as for the city worker who is back on the job, elections are over, and in Chester the PTB have never had to live by the same rules as the people who put them in office....better luck next electin cycle.

  2. SHE NEEDS TO BE FIRED. SHE HAD TO KNOW ALL THOSE WEAPONS WERE IN HER HOME. LETS GET RIGHT CHESTER. WE MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR OURSELFS.
