Media, PA – Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems (HBHS) and Healthy Communities Initiative (HCI) invite parents, teens, and community members to the S.P.O.T. (Supervised Programs Organized for Teens) Network Open House on Monday, October 4, 2010 from 5-7pm at the Rocky Run YMCA. The Rocky Run YMCA is located at 1299 Baltimore Pike, Media, PA. All who attend will have the opportunity to meet all S.P.O.T. Network Organizations and find out what activities they offer for both youth and parents. HBHS and HCI have worked to connect local youth serving organizations in an effort to reduce and prevent the early initiation and regular use of alcohol in middle and high school students.
The S.P.O.T. Network was created to connect parents and youth with safe, supervised, alcohol and drug-free activities available after school, evenings and on weekends. The Rose Tree Media S.P.O.T. Network is comprised of community organizations including the Rocky Run YMCA, Media Youth Center, Media-Upper Providence Free Library, Reformation Lutheran Church - R.O.CK. Youth Group, Ken Williams Recovery, PRYSM Youth Group, Middletown Baptist Church - Light House Café, Venturing Crew 154, Neighborhood Center for Youth Development, Rose Tree Soccer Club, Focus Psychological Associates, Delaware County Youth Connection, the ME Project, the Corner S.P.OT. at Holcomb, and HCI.

The S.P.O.T. Network is made possible through funding from the PA Department of Health, Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs' Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant to reduce and prevent underage drinking. The Delaware County Office of Behavioral Health supports the partnership of Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems and Healthy Communities Initiative to implement comprehensive programming.
Holcomb Prevention and Education Services, funded by the Delaware County Office of Behavioral Health, Division of Drug and Alcohol, provides education, trainings, consultations, public awareness campaigns, prevention initiatives, student assessments and referrals as part of a planned strategy to prevent or reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
Tuesday is October 5th, not the 4th.
