Widener University Art Gallery Hosts Third Annual CareLink Art Exhibition

Chester, Pa. – The Widener University Art Gallery will host the Third Annual CareLink Art Exhibition, highlighting the many gifted artists involved with CareLink programs, from October 25 to November 26.

CareLink has a long history of providing a range of arts programming to build communities through art and create an appreciation of the arts among people with mental illness. The programs are supported by generous funding from Pennsylvania Council on Arts.

CareLink was founded in 1959 in Landsowne, Pa. to provide people living with mental illness a progressive alternative to the revolving door of hospital care. CareLink’s philosophy is that people with disabilities can live, work and participate in the community with independence if they have caring support and help learning essential skills. The organization’s services embody the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation which promote achievable outcomes, community integration and highly individualized care. CareLink serves more than 800 adults in 28 community programs in Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey.

The gallery will host a reception for the exhibition from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 29.
