Photos for Fathers a success

Steve Fischer, executive director of the Chester Housing Authority, helped organize Fathers Are Talking, a group of fathers who assemble to talk about issues men face as fathers and issues they face with their fathers.

In their two years of existence they have staged a few outreach activities to spread the word to increase the circle of fathers talking.

In celebration of Father's Day, the group offered fathers the opportunity to get a professional photo taken with their children at a Chester Housing Authority property. The turnout wasn't great but the spirit of cooperation and unity was tremendous filled with lively conversation and a lot of laughter.

Here's a few photos from the photo shoot.

  2. Thanks for inviting me to share this Father's Day moment with my son. Having been raised during a significant part of my life in Chester and Delaware County, then having lived in the City, become a tax paying adult and now having returned home to work here, I know how important the celebration of fathers and fatherhood is. This activity was nice and easy to participate in. Sometimes, the simplest activities make the greatest impact. My son loves the photo together..and so do I....thanks Steve, Julia, Jennifer, and the Fatherhood Committee from Chester.
